Pockets Of Flowers

Precious pockets of flowers alongside the road,
a gift from God to man.
Sometimes I pass them too quickly to see
the pockets of flowers that were planted for me.
Until two tiny hands take just enough time
to pick some for me with no reason or rhyme.
Sweet flowers provide an expression of love
the pockets of flowers truly sent from above.

What Time Can Do

When I was just a toddler, looking back, things were so big
or could it be that I was just so small?
Grown-ups were much higher, cabinet tops were way up there,
everything in my life was just so tall.

I lived in such a big house or so it seemed back then,
the step onto the porch was ten feet down.
Of course, I didn't realize that I was really small
and my legs were as long as they were round.

My pup, back then, was larger than they seem to make them now,
his back would come up even with my eyes.
Now, I'm looking back, the pup was just a pup,
and it was me who was a munchkin in size.

When life gets out of hand and is difficult to handle,
remember what a little time can do.
In time so many things can change and are easier to handle,
See how everything shrank as you grew?

FAITH
By Geoff Hodder ©
A million stars, a billion lights
Ten trillion square miles of space
I often ponder, where's paradise yonder
Or when will I touch your face

A Heaven's prepared, the story is written
A paradise so beautiful to see
An angel sings, with soft golden wings
Where Jesus is awaiting for me

A celestial Heaven, a spiritual world
Where souls in Christ are free
To live and abide, by the creator's side
In a place of perfect harmony

I live by faith, in what I've read
From your bible book of verse
I believe in you, your word is true
Lord you teach of a place of curse

Where sinners go, to an eternal hell
And Satan claims their souls
Dragged from the mire, to the lake of fire
To burn like blackened coals

There's no second chance, when you die
So make your choice before
But the problems so, we just don't know
When our time on earths no more

I'd rather have faith, of a heavenly place
Where my spirit can finally dwell
And soar on the wing, with my lord and king
Than burn in Satan's stinking Hell

ANGELS AT WAR
By Geoff Hodder ©

All tranquillity hides, when angels at war
Schoolgirls board with their heavy pack
Like an army they march, in a single file
To conquer the bus seats at the back

Amid the raging battle, of yapping tongues
Quiet and alone sits a wounded soul
No awesome laugh, no smiling face
Cast out from her sorority role

She was the angel with, the brightest wings
All others gathered around
I know not why, of the circumstance
She sits all alone and bound

My thoughts in prayer, was that she worry not
Allow the lord to sit by your side
He's the greatest friend, you'll ever have
Through your battles he'll be your guide

You'll never be alone, in your battle zone
With a friend like Christ you'll find
Your wounds will heal; to soldier on
And conquer your dreams of mind

She reached in her bag, and took out a book
She'll do just fine I know
She opened the bible, and began to read
Sweet tears down my cheeks did flow

An ode to Katie

The Cross

Elissa Ihlenfeld

I open my eyes and look up to the cross,
Where I see my Lord the Son of God.
I hear his cries I feel his pain,
And I start to sob,
But he says to me softly,
"My child don't cry,
Don't shed a tear.
For you this I am doing,
Because I love you my dear.
So go and be free,
And tell the good news
That Jesus Son of God
Died on a cross for you."

The Beauty Of
Life
Lenora McWhorter

Life is filled with beauty.
It can be seen all around.
The glossy leaves on the trees.
Flowers sprouting from the ground.
The glowing smile on a mom,s face,
as she gently hugs her child.
The laughter of a proud dad willing to go the extra mile.
The birds chirping overhead,
the bushy squirrels below.
The richness of mother nature
gives beauty around the globe.
The clear blue sky up above,
the big, wide bubbling sea,
The beauty of God's creation
is displayd for all to see.

My Walk With God
Lenora McWhorter

The path I walk is not always smooth.
But I do not walk alone.
When I find myself sinking low,
I sing a happy song.
The peace of God fills my heart,
and suddenly things look bright.
For Christ promises to be with me
whether its day or whether its night.
Each day I have a new opportunity
to draw near to His side.
So when I'm alone I'm not alone
God's Spirit in me abides.
When all others sees far away,
The Lord is closer still.
He knows just what my needs are
and each void He's sure to fill.

One night I cried to Jesus as I sat beneath the tree.
I looked into the open sky and hoped he'd answer me.
I'm lost, Dear Lord, I've traveled far, but still I seem to roam.
Please light the way and lead me, Lord. I need to get back home.
I told him of my burdens, and of the sadness in my heart.
That from His gracious love I'd never felt so far apart.
Why did you take my child, Lord?  I cannot understand!
No longer can I touch her face or hold her tiny hand.
I'm angry, Lord; I'm missing her.  I'm drowning in my sorrow.
Please help to heal my yesterday and face each new tomorrow.
It was then I heard her gentle voice and felt her presence near.
How I wanted so to hold her as I cried another tear.
She said, "Mommy, I'm an angel now; my spirit will be free.
I'm an angel now in Heaven, so please don't cry for me.
I was chosen by our Lord above, and now I'm in His care.
When you need me, look inside your heart.  I promise to be there.
No one can every take away our bond with one another.
I will always be your precious child, as you will be my mother.
So if you cannot find your way, or the road to home seems far;
Just look up to the Heavens and I'll be your guiding star."
She said, "Mommy, I'm an angel now; my spirit will be free.
I'm an angel now in Heaven - no need to cry for me."
