Valerie Bauer Rousseau   

I love to share the love of God that I feel in my heart, through the gift of poetry 
that God has given me. When I write, I can feel the Holy Spirit inspire me 
with words that often, I would not be able to express with my voice. My poetry 
is about the changing seasons in my life and also the lives of others that God 
has brought across my path over the years. Much of the Bible is a collection 
of letters and poems written to inspire and encourage others. Many times 
it was during trials or imprisonment that God spoke to people's hearts. 
I pray that my witness and sharing of poetry can help provide a comfort 
to all who are lost or hurting. 

We as Christian's have many opportunities to witness our faith with the 
use of poetry, greeting cards, and e-mail's with scripture attached. By 
lifting people's spirits we can show God's love and point them to Jesus 
for Salvation. 

In the book of Revelation 12:10-11 God tells us... 
Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and 
the power of Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which 
accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him 
by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: and they 
loved not their lives unto death. 

People who are hurting always hurt others. The crime and violence in this world 
is spreading to our children and it is a warning for us all to take a stand and 
make this world a different place for us live. With man it is impossible, but 
with God all things are possible. 



DO YOU BELIEVE IN EASTER? 

Do you believe in Easter? 
That Jesus died to save... 
Each of us from all our sins, 
by rising from the grave. 

If you believe in Easter... 
Show others that you do. 
By dying to your old ways... 
And let his love shine through. 

If you believe in Easter... 
You always must forgive. 
The debt was paid at Calvary. 
So all of us could live. 

If you believe in Easter... 
Tell others of his love. 
And you will be rewarded... 
By our Savior up above.

GOD IS NOT OBSOLETE 

The world would like to tell us... 
That God is obsolete. 
And we don't need a Savior... 
To make our life complete. 

The world would like to keep us, 
from God's word and his commands. 
So now, a battle's raging... 
in our schools and in our land. 

For sin has somehow hardened, 
our hearts and minds to stone. 
We think that we can overcome... 
this battle on our own. 

The only way we'll conquer, 
the sin and moral decay... 
Is to ask God for forgiveness, 
and for his will today. 

So choose your side, and take a stand. 
Armed with God's word to lead. 
If God is fighting for us... 
We surely will succeed!

and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven,

LET MY CHILDREN SEE 
Let my children see in me... 

Love and strength and stability. 

Help me teach them to draw from you 

All of the power your Word can do. 



Let my example prove to them... 

In trusting you, they'll be freed from sin. 

Let them see my reverent fear. 

My love for you, when I draw near. 



Let my example consistently prove, 

that through obedience...they'll never loose. 

With respect for authority, I'll honor you. 

And give you the glory in all that I do. 



By sharing with others, help them to see... 

That you will supply all of their needs. 

Help me stay focused, for I know my goal... 

Is to teach them God's Word and saving their souls. 



For then the cycle, can continue again. 

Our children become godly women and men. 

And each generation, will love and trust you. 

To lead them and guide them, in all that they do.

TERROR REIGNS WITHIN OUR SCHOOLS 

Terror reigns within our schools. 
For they no longer have God's rules. 
And now in order for them to pray. 
A child must loose it's life today. 

Our children are crying out in need. 
As their parents...we must take heed. 
Let's show our children Jesus' way. 
To solve their problems in non-violent ways. 

We need to show them how to seek... 
Strength from God, when they feel weak. 
For only God's Word can quiet their fears, 
and help them to know, He's always near. 

Oh Lord, we pray for forgiveness and peace. 
Please give our children the love they seek. 
Through you guidance, please let us find... 
Joy and hope and peace of mind.

OUR NATION IS IN MORAL DECAY 

Our nation is living in moral decay... 
Because we insist on having, "our way." 
We refuse to obey God's rules or commands. 
Or to be directed, by his loving hands. 

Our leaders examples have led us astray. 
Refusing to rule us with God's chosen ways. 
The shame of our country is apparent to all... 
If we don't take heed, our nation will fall. 

Continued exposure to sex and corruption, 
will destroy our children and lead to destruction. 
Repentance and forgiveness, will bring us relief. 
Headline hysteria and gossip must cease. 

As Christians, let's plead with our Lord up above... 
To have mercy on us and forgive us in love. 
The power of Jesus, and soon overcome... 
And bring us relief from the damage now done. 

Life can be different, in the world which we live... 
By showing to others, the hope God can give. 
So let us unite and ask Him to now show... 
That He has a plan and He's in control.

DIVORCE IS AN UGLY DISEASE 

Divorce is such an ugly disease. 
For years the hate and lies will breed. 
We're trapped in a prison of self-pity and pride. 
And in the past...we continually hide. 

Our children are suffering and dying inside. 
They're searching for love, that they cannot find. 
For we are too busy...to notice their pain. 
So they find their comfort from drugs, sex, and gangs. 

The example's we've set have now led them astray. 
We have to go back to the Lord's plan today. 
God's word will provide the direction you need. 
To give them the values and love that they seek. 

You will not be sorry you sought out God's will. 
Your life will be blessed and your heart will be filled. 
With joy that in seeing your children now grown... 
Are strong through the Lord, and are never alone.
