From Karen Wheelis.
I too am a Christian.
I enjoy poetry and write some occasional when God gives me the words.
I wanted to send this one to you.
I have Fibromyalgia and am often up at night.
God took this time and turned it into a wonderful time of fellowship.
This poem was written about that experience.
I hope maybe it can help others who for whatever reason find themselves awake and feeling alone in the quiet of the night.

Nights Blessings

It is night and I am not asleep.

I wander the quiet house looking for a place without pain
A place where there is peace and escape.

I roam aimlessly until I finally sit down in desperation.
I cry out to God to take away the pain and let me sleep.

Then I realize that here is a time to talk to God.
A time alone, a time of quiet, a time for letting go of the stress of life.

In the quiet early hours of the morning I am free from the distractions of the day.
If I sit quietly I can hear the voice of God.
I can talk to Him and He quiets my mind and my heart.
What I thought was a time of despair has turned into a time for blessing.

I am alone with my Father.

I can ask Him the questions in my heart and He will answer.
The stillness becomes a warm comforting arm around me
I am no longer alone but in the glorious presence of my Father.

We talk and I listen to His words and tuck them away in my heart.
As time passes I begin to feel a calm and peace come over me.
My eyes become heavy and my pain is eased.

As I drift off into sweet sleep I hear the voice of my Father
As He promises me He will always be there for me
In the quietness of the night.

BEGINNINGS by Karen Wheelis.
Morning dawns and the light seeps into the darkness
like the water of an incoming tide
quietly overtakes a beach.

As the light silently consumes the darkness
the peaceful stillness is broken
by the waking sounds of nature.

Slowly at first,
like the unfurling of a flag on a gentle breeze
all the sleeping creatures greet the new day with
a joy you can hear.

God’s magnificent handiwork surrounds me and
I stand in awe and wonderment as His creation
begins a new day.

I wrote this poem when school started this year. I am a teacher and I try hard to show Christ in my life to my students.

 Teachers Poem
Lord, as I begin each day,
Give me the wisdom to see the special needs within each child.
Let me teach with love,
as you taught the little children.
Give me the words,
to soothe a wounded spirit,
and to excite the wonder within
each precious child.
Help me to show your love,
to those around me,
whether with a smile,
or a word of understanding.
Put a smile on my face,
and your words in my mouth
That all may see you in me.

The folowing note and poem was sent by Kasey.
This really spoke to my heart. From a young girl of 13, knowing how hard life is,
being in a place between adulthood and childhood.
God has the victory in this young girls life.
So many lessons to be learned from our grown ups of the future.
God Bless You Kasey, and thankyou very much for this.

Kasey wrote..I am only 13, but I know how hard it is to really and truly believe in God.
I have had more than once where I have found myself far from God.
This is a poem to just kind of tell you how hard it is.
This is not my life. Just a poem to show how hard it can get.

A Life Forever Changed
Many of hard times have took place in my life
My Christian walk was turning into looking for God instead of believing in him
I thought that believing was seeing and it isn't!!!!
I prayed for God to help me
I never payed attention to his help
I didn't even care anymore when God didn't respond
I gave it all up to the Devil
I drank, smoked, and came really close to lossing my virginity at the age of 11
I kept up the smoking but lost the drinking all together.
My mother came in my room one day to talk to me and I was gone
I decide to go with some friends and snuck out of the house that night
I got high and Mom found me.
She drug me to church with her the next day and I started to believe
once again maybe God was real without the seeing part.
I went to church with my mother again and again
I got NEW CHRISTIAN friends also.
We always had get togethers to talk.
I always wanted to know more about God so they would tell me.
One of my friends mom was the youth director and she helped me too.
I went to a church camp and met alot of people.
I met a guy and he helped me decide to come back to the Lord.
I have had a good Christian walk since then
I'm not saying I never make a mistake in it
I am saying that it is a drug free, smoke free, drunk free, and sex free Christian walk.
Just remember that you are here for God and his perposes so live it up!

GOD MADE YOU SPECIAL!

God made you special,
So-o special tis true,
There's no one on earth,
Exactly like you.!

He formed you like a jewel,
So brilliant and bright,
And imparted His Glory,
So you can be His light.

From Glory to Glory,
You shine forth so true,
And God shows His pleasure,
in the kindness you do!

You are Someone Special!

You are someone special
whom God delights to see.
You are God's own treasure,
full of hope & love to be.

You are Someone special,
in whom God delights to dwell.
You are His earthen vessel,
God's song of love to tell.

MAY YOUR SORROWS TURN TO SUNSHINE!

May your sorrows turn to sunshine,
May your darkness turn to light,
May you find a sweet contentment,
When all things turn out right.
It feels like such a crazy plan,
When everythin seems wrong,
Yet how the Lord allows the worst,
To made us wise and strong.

May your trials build endurance,
May your sadness trun to light,
May you find God's grace to carry on,
When you try to do what's right.

It seems like life can be so cruel,
When everything seems wrong,
Yet how the Lord allows the worst,
To make you merciful and strong.
May your journey bring you Jesus,
When everything seems wrong.
May you find the only sonshine,
To make you sing the worship song.
