Resting Place

I have found in you a resting place
One that wipes away the tears from my face
I can safely lay my troubles aside
While in Your presence I abide
You speak not a word; Your silence is complete
Just to be near You is all that I seek
I timidly come in and settle down
While all around me Your love abounds
Your fragrance surrounds as I sit at Your feet
There is none other that smells so sweet
Weary and tired from running this race
I'm so glad I found in You a resting place

What Choice is Made?

It was in a garden, life was full of love and grace
Things were done according to the Master's plan
The freedom was given to make the choice
There a choice was given and a choice was made
The innocent was slain to cover their shame
What happened? What choice was made?

Throughout time there have been choices made
At the time of the flood, in the lion's den,
Into the fiery furnace, and at the Red Sea
The choice was given, the choice was made

It was not upon the Cross that the deepest wounds were made
Even though the hands and feet were pierced
It is the wound to the heart that causes the greatest pain
Because of the choices that are made

Remember Me

Praying in the garden of Gethsemane,
Petitions penned with blood, sweat, and tears.
Crying, "Father, I have been obedient to You
For all of my 33 years."
"If it’s possible, please take this cup from me,"
Said the suffering son.
"But if this be the only way, Dear Father,
Not my will, but Yours be done."

As He finished His urgent request to His Father
The soldiers burst onto the scene,
Seizing our Lord who was marked by a kiss-
Betrayed by a friend with a scheme.

They mocked Him, and beat Him,
And whipped Him for sport,
Sneering, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
They forced Him to walk while He carried His cross-
Could you have walked in His shoes?

Nails fashioned by hate were thrust through the hands
That had reached out in love to the world.
And our life that was lost once again was restored
As out of Christ’s body blood spilled.

In the final dark hours as He hung there alone,
Divinely completing His task,
One question remained on His face wracked with pain,
"Why have you forsaken me?" He asked.

Then came His last words- "It is finished", He said,
As He breathed His last breath for you.
And the sky became dark, and the earth shook with fear
As the veil was torn in two.

He was wrapped in white linen and laid in a tomb
Possessed by a man of some fame
And a stone was placed in the door to that tomb
So secure, none would see Him again.

But our Heavenly Father is far greater still
Than any plan man could devise.
They discovered the stone was removed from that grave
For Hallelujah! Our Lord did arise!

So what’s your response to this wondrous God
Who poured out His love on a cross?
If you were worth dying for, then He is worth living for.
Share God’s love with a world that is lost.

God's Perfect Choice

There comes a time in every young man's life
When his thoughts will turn to finding a wife
When he finds the right girl, he will give her a ring
And then they would be married in the spring
He will search and search to find another
That would have some of the same qualities as his mother
He stops to pray and asks the Lord above
To show him the girl that will be his love
He trusts in God, cause His truth has been tried
He knows his God, will show him his bride
Twenty years later, their love is still strong
They know that God's wisdom could not be wrong
Their love is as strong as the day they met
His love is stronger; He has not failed us yet.

This Book

I read a really good book today
One that took me to lands far away
The hero's were there, along with the bad
All the right characters, the happy and sad
A story of triumph, a story of defeat
A story that is sure to sweep you off your feet
Romance and intrigue in this book do abound
Even a great city was brought to the ground
Songs of joy were sung, and lesson's taught
And there were numerous battles to be fought
This book should be read by one and all
It's accessible to everyone, can't ya hear it call
Yes, the Bible, that is the book for me
Read it for yourself, to help set you free

Never Forget God
by Rebecca King

When the loneliness seems to consume you
And the pain won't seem to go away
Never forget I love you
And am with you everyday

When the night seems to last forever
And you feel the dawn will never appear
Never forget I am your Father
And you have nothing to fear

When you are blinded by your tears
And cannot see the way
Never forget I am with you
And will lead you day by day

When all your friends desert you
And no one seems to care
Never forget that I will never leave you
And I am always there

When life doesn't seem worth living
And you don't understand
Never forget I created you
And have for you a plan
